Anthropologie is a trove of gorgeous treasures that I return to again and again.
As a stylist and Deputy Editor of Homes & GardensI spend a lot of time looking for the latest, most beautiful decorative homewares from the hottest designers to give those timeless schemes we all love an intriguing, contemporary twist – and Anthro’s always at the top of my return-to list.
With July 4th decorations and celebrations on everyone’s minds this weekend, I’ve been looking to spruce up my home to ensure my party goes smoothly – and stylishly. My first stop: Anthropologie. And to save you the legwork, I’ve pulled out the very best of their new spring/summer offerings that will be sure to impress your guests, too. There are some great gifts here, too. You can find all Anthro Living’s purchases in one place on the website.
What to buy at Anthropologie for 4th July
Luci Rattan Bar Cart
A bar cart on wheels that is made from an indoor/outdoor material, such as rattan, is an ideal way to take the party outside. Fill it with your guests’ favorite tips – make mine a mezcal margarita! – and park it next to the pool for easy-access refreshments for you and your party guests.
Elin Cake Stand
we love a Great American Baking Show masterpiece, so it’s worth having a charming cake stand in case one of your guests should be so kind. If they arrive empty-handed then a cake stand is a great way to give height to your tablescape, ideal for displaying fruit or stacking brownies and smaller bakes.
Beacon Two-Tone Flatware 20-Piece Place Setting
It’s easy to think of cutlery as an afterthought. When perusing the Anthropologie new collections, this 20-piece set certainly caught my attention. The ombre trend isn’t a new one, but this is the first time I’ve seen it on cutlery – and it’s done so elegantly, too, don’t you think?
Always Pan 2.0, Our Place
This recommendation comes tried and tested. I’ve been the owner of an Always Pan for a couple of years and it’s been a real game changer. Okay, so I can’t put it in the dishwasher but literally nothing sticks to it. Its stylish aesthetic means you can leave this pan on display, perfect for parties.
Brody Outdoor Chair
For the ultimate hostess with the most-ess status, ensure that your guests can enjoy some comfy seating. This Brody outdoor chair – with its sweet scalloped edge and ball topped frame – is the perfect way to bring some style and comfort to your garden. Not only that, stripes will look great season after season.
Monogram Doormat, Anthropologie
On first impression a doormat might not seem like the perfect party piece but if you’ve got a large number of guests coming in and out of your house, it’s worth offering them something to wipe their feet on before entering. And the monogrammed design makes it feel unique to your doorway.
Morgan Wine Glass (set of 4)
Colorful wine glasses are a great way to add a touch of fun to your party – and are ideal for helping you remember which glass is yours. I love the elegant stem and handsome range of colors from the Morgan. For a party, I often look for glassware that isn’t too fragile and this is perfect.
Platter, Lucie de Moencourt
I have been an admirer of Lucie de Moyencourt’s work for a while. I have one of her shell dishes in my bathroom, which brings me joy every morning. Anthropologie is now offering her designs on a larger scale and this stunning platter is most certainly on my party list to elevate my dining table.
Arc En Ciel Outdoor Folding Table, Emu
If you’re hosting a party, yet don’t have a huge yard (or space indoors) then foldaway furniture is the ideal solution. It can often look cheap but this design from outdoor furniture experts Emu feels high-end and fun thanks to its color choices – the cherry red will give the perfect salute to Independence Day!
You can shop Anthropologie in the UK too. More wonderful buys from me next week.
