  • Taylor Swift has worn memorable, daring, and beautiful looks on red carpets over the years.

  • The singer loves to wear sequined dresses, bold colors, and floor-length gowns.

  • Insider sorted through her best looks and ranked them from least to most memorable.

At the 2008 American Music Awards, Taylor Swift wore a one-shoulder dress covered in sparkles.

This is one of the first glimmering dresses Swift ever wore, and it eventually became her red-carpet signature. However, while this look predicts future red-carpet moments to come, it’s not as memorable as other looks she’s worn throughout her career.

She wore a more mature gown at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2011.

Swift stole the show at the 2013 ACM Awards in a glittering metallic gown.

“Taylor Swift sported a gown befitting country royalty on Sunday, stealing the show at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas in a stunning metallic dress,” Eleanor Gower at Daily Mail wrote in 2012 about the Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Swift chose a bold pop of color at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in honor of her album “Red.”

The see-through top and floor-length dress were also designed by Elie Saab.

She kept with the red theme at the 2012 CMA Awards.

“Taylor Swift stunned in a show-stopping Jenny Packham number with sparking red detailing,” Billboard wrote in their best-dressed ranking in 2012.

The Versace, off-the-shoulder gown also featured a high slit. The look was especially memorable because Swift was not even expected to attend the event.

The musician returned to her signature sparkle for the Grammy Awards in 2014.

“It’s really heavy,” Swift told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet about her Gucci dress. “It’s everything you’d expect it to be. It’s like a suit of armor.”

MyDaily UK named Swift the best-dressed celebrity of the night.

For the 2016 Country Music Awards, Swift wore a stunning sheer gown.

The intricate and see-through gown was designed by Julien Macdonald. Avery Matera of Teen Vogue called the “glamorous, edgy look” “the ultimate optical illusion.”

Swift blended in with the supermodels at the Victoria’s Secret after-party in 2014 with this striking dress.

The Zuhair Murad gown featured a tall slit and a sheer top. Swift helped the fashion show to get sky-high ratings — the event pulled in 9.2 million viewers when it aired.

For the 2014 Met Gala, Swift went with a dreamy Oscar de la Renta gown.

“Oscar de la Renta is the designer I’ve idolized since I was a little girl,” Swift told Us Weekly on the red carpet. “Having an opportunity to wear a one-of-kind gown designed by him is a daydream realized.”

Emma Sarran Webster and Donya Momenian at Teen Vogue said that Swift nailed the theme, writing that the “Oscar de la Renta dress was the perfect combination of soft and subtle in the front, and dramatic and head-turning in the back— a quintessential Met Ball dress.”

After taking two years off from the spotlight, Swift returned to the red carpet in this gown at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.

The Versace dress took more than 800 hours to make and made for the perfect memorable comeback look.

“My first award show in a few years and it was so much fun thanks to you,” Swift wrote in an Instagram caption. “I love you guys. PS thanks @versace for this ✨delicate✨ dress.”

The Grammy winner turned heads with her patterned gown at the 2019 premiere of “Cats.”

It would be difficult to forget this bold look — the silk gown was designed by Oscar de la Renta and cost a whopping $17,990.

She stuck with the pattern style for the Golden Globes in 2020 with this ball gown.

“Wearing a voluminous silk dress from Etro, Taylor certainly made a statement when she stepped out of the car and onto that scarlet step-and-repeat,” Avery Matera at Teen Vogue wrote in 2020.

At the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, Swift broke away from her gowns and chose a plaid jumpsuit.

The Carmen March outfit featured a plaid trench coat and matching heels. Vogue reporter Janelle Okwudu was also a fan of the look, saying the singer arrived “looking like a boss.”

Swift channeled her punk rock side at the 2013 Met Gala.

In 2013, the Met Gala was themed “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” and Swift chose a J. Mendel gown adorned with gold embellishments. Teen Vogue commented that Swift “fully embraced” the theme, and we can’t help but agree.

She went with an elegant and simple black gown for the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2016.

The Alexandre Vauthier gown had a plunging neckline and high slit, which is more daring than we’re used to seeing on Swift.

Swift returned to her roots when she wore yet another sequined look at the American Music Awards in 2018.

“The singer turned heads on the red carpet in a long-sleeved dress made of small, silver reflective panels,” Insider’s Lucy Yang wrote at the time. “She paired the Balmain minidress with matching thigh-high stiletto boots, also by the French fashion house.”

The look is especially memorable as Swift wore it in a promotional image for her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.”

At the 2021 premiere of her short film “All Too Well,” Swift again stayed away from her signature gowns.

The maroon pantsuit was a deviation from her other memorable looks, but the velvet made her look even more sophisticated and the different silhouette was undoubtedly memorable.

For the 2022 American Music Awards, Swift wore a sparkling jumpsuit with a backless halter top.

The Blonds designed Swift’s suit, which also had a deep-V neckline, a satin belt, and gold sequins from top to bottom.

She paired it with gold heels, dagger-shaped earrings, and layers of metallic jewelry.

While co-chairing the Met Gala in 2016, Taylor Swift rocked a noticeably different look.

Fashion legend and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour may have had a hand in conceptualizing Swift’s look for the 2016 Met Gala — and her style in general during that time.

“We very much wanted to give Taylor a new look, make her into a sort of a rock ‘n’ roll chick,” Wintour told Today of her inspiration for Swift’s May 2016 Vogue cover.

For the theme, the “Blank Space” singer topped off her metallic Louis Vuitton dress with a new platinum blonde ‘do and strappy black heels. The ensemble is made even more memorable due to rumors that Swift met her boyfriend Joe Alwyn while attending the event.

“Flashback when you met me / Your buzzcut and my hair bleached,” she sings in “Dress,” which appears on her album “Reputation.”

Swift wore a floral-covered dress and matching face mask to the 2021 Grammys.

“In a bountiful display of late-summer’s glory, botanical appliqués are tacked on individually to complete the look,” Oscar de la Renta said of the custom dress.

To attend the VMA 2022 after-party, Swift wore a blue satin romper embellished with silver stars.

She paired the jewel-toned dress with silver platform heels and a white faux fur coat. The look is particularly memorable as it ushered in the singer’s “Midnights” style era, which has been heavily marked by star motifs and blue tones.

She wore one of her boldest looks to date at the 2022 MTV EMAs in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Swift’s statement-making Oscar de la Renta ensemble was the perfect look to announce her latest release, “Midnights.”

Vogue reporter Christian Allaire also caught on to the “switch-up” in Swift’s style, especially compared to what she wore during her “Folklore” era.

“These dance floor-worthy ensembles are certainly a far cry from the laid-back, nature-forward looks she wore during her last album promo,” Allaire wrote.

Swift wore her most daring and most memorable look to date at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

“The 26-year-old, who is nominated for seven awards, shone in a two-piece orange and pink ensemble by Versace, which she styled with a brand-new bob and her signature cat-eye,” the Hollywood Reporter wrote at the time.

She won three Grammys that night, including album of the year for “1989.”

Common Estate Planning Misunderstandings – Rickard & Associates

Many of our clients have preconceived notions about estate planning. We often hear many of the same questions and assumptions, over and over.

We can help you stay on top of the latest news that affects your everyday life. Subscribe to stay up to date.  (To subscribe to our blog ).

We often hear the same misconceptions regarding estate planning.

Here are a few of the common misconceptions surrounding estate planning:

  1. Misconception: A Will helps to avoid probate court. This is false. A will almost certainly guarantees that your estate will wind up in probate court. You then
  2. Misconception: I need to distribute my assets equally to my children. Some of our clients really struggle with how to distribute assets to their children, as some children have greater needs than others. We let them know their plan can be tailored in a way that allows for certain distributions for a child who needs them. Proper planning can stagger distributions at different times or ages.  Your estate plan can be tailored to meet the needs of your beneficiaries.
  3. Misconception: I don’t need an estate plan unless I’m old and/or rich. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Estate plans come in all different shapes and sizes to fit your particular circumstance. However, it is essential that you have one. Even if you don’t have many assets, you should plan for incapacity and have the appropriate Powers of Attorney in place. This allows you to select the person who can make financial and healthcare decisions on your behalf, should you become incapacitated. If you have minor children, it is essential that you name guardians for your children. We often recommend 18-year-olds have very simple documents in place, so that their parents or loved ones can be involved in their healthcare, should they become incapacitated.
  4. Misconception: A Will and a Trust accomplish the same thing. We often hear confusion over the differences between a Will and a Trust. We like to say that a Trust accomplishes all the things that people often think a Will accomplishes. Very simply, a Will is only effective at death and states what will happen to your assets at death. It will likely go through probate, which will incur additional costs and time and make your estate public record. A Will is usually simpler and cheaper to draft up front. A Trust also states what happens to your assets at death. However, Trusts also provide for your incapacity, have additional liability protections, are not a matter of public record and do not need to be probated.
  5. Misconception: I can do my estate planning online. While it’s true, you can do estate planning online, your estate plan will likely not be tailored to your circumstances, may not protect your assets, and might not even be legal. When people use online estate planning software, it often ends up in their loved ones incurring large fees to straighten out the estate after they pass away.

Red Light Anti-Aging – Maria Mind Body Health

Red light therapy has been shown to benefit health and even have some anti-aging properties. Let’s dive into the science on red light therapy for anti-aging.

The Science

The Science Behind Red Light Therapy: Red light therapy, also known as low-level light therapy or photobiomodulation, involves exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light. These wavelengths penetrate deep into the skin and interact with cells, triggering various cellular mechanisms that promote rejuvenation and vitality. The photons absorbed by the cells stimulate mitochondrial function, increase ATP production (the cell’s energy currency), and promote cellular repair and regeneration.

The anti-aging benefits of red light therapy are grounded in scientific research. For instance, a study published in the “Journal of Investigative Dermatology” demonstrated that red light therapy improves skin complexion, reduces wrinkles, and increases collagen production[^1]. Another study published in the “Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy” revealed that red light therapy enhances skin elasticity and improves the appearance of age-related skin issues[^2]. These studies highlight the remarkable effects of red light therapy on skin health and aging.

Anti-Aging Benefits of Red Light Therapy:

  1. Reduction of Wrinkles and Fine Lines: Red light therapy has shown promising results in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. By stimulating collagen synthesis and elastin production, red light therapy improves skin elasticity and firmness, smoothing out the signs of aging. A study published in the “Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology” found that red light therapy significantly reduces wrinkle severity and improves overall skin texture[^3]. Embrace the radiance of red light to unveil a more youthful complexion!
  2. Enhanced Skin Tone and Texture: Uneven skin tone and texture are common concerns as we age. Red light therapy can help address these issues by promoting a more even complexion and refining skin texture. The wavelengths of red light stimulate blood circulation, delivering vital nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells. This increased circulation enhances the skin’s natural radiance and promotes a smoother, more refined texture.
  3. Accelerated Wound Healing and Tissue Repair: Red light therapy’s rejuvenating effects extend beyond cosmetic benefits. It also aids in wound healing and tissue repair, supporting the body’s natural regenerative processes. Research published in the “International Journal of Molecular Sciences” highlights the ability of red light therapy to enhance cell migration, collagen synthesis, and angiogenesis, all crucial factors for wound healing[^4]. By accelerating tissue repair, red light therapy contributes to a more youthful and vibrant appearance.

Incorporating Red Light Therapy into Your Anti-Aging Regimen: Integrating red light therapy into your skincare routine is both simple and effective. Red light therapy devices, such as LED panels or handheld devices, are readily available for home use. It is important to choose a high-quality device that emits the appropriate wavelengths and follow the recommended treatment protocols. Consistency is key, so establish a regular schedule and allow the rejuvenating power of red light to work its magic.

Conclusion: Red light therapy could aid in giving you a youthful look. Its scientifically-backed benefits, including wrinkle reduction, improved skin tone and texture, and accelerated wound healing, make it a valuable addition to any anti-aging regimen. Embrace the rejuvenating power of red light therapy and let your inner glow illuminate the world.

OTHER RED LIGHT FACE MASK BENEFITS

  • Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • Sore Jaw
  • Eczema
  • Migraines

  • Relaxation
  • Razor Burns
  • Ingrown facial hair

The emergence of red light face masks has revolutionized the way we approach skincare, providing a non-invasive and effective solution for a wide range of skin concerns. From reducing the appearance of wrinkles and acne to promoting collagen production and enhancing overall skin health, these devices offer a multitude of benefits. Incorporating red light therapy into your skincare routine can help you achieve a radiant, youthful complexion and boost your confidence. However, it’s important to remember that individual results may vary, and it’s always best to consult a skincare professional or dermatologist before incorporating any new treatment into your regimen. Embrace the power of red light face masks and unlock the secret to glowing, rejuvenated skin.

We can party all together – Roger Federer would love to say thank you to fans

Roger Federer bowed out of professional tennis on Friday night (John Walton/PA) (PA Wire)

Roger Federer hinted at a potential farewell tour after he played the final professional match of his illustrious career in the early hours of Saturday morning at the O2 in London.

The 20-time grand-slam champion could not bring the curtain down with one final competitive victory after losing 6-4 6-7 (2) 9-11 alongside doubles partner Rafael Nadal to Team World pair Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe at the Laver Cups.

Both Federer and Nadal were in tears at the conclusion of a two hour and 14 minute battle that saw the former world number ones squander match point much to the disappointment of a buoyant 17,500-capacity crowd.

Not that the final result mattered with standing ovations afforded to the 41-year-old throughout his ‘last dance’ and plenty of highlights, including a 116mph ace and one sensational drop shot winner in the deciding tie-breaker.

Federer had announced last week the doubles contest on night one of the Laver Cup, the Ryder Cup-style team competition he set up, would be his last on the ATP Tour but the door has been left open for more chances to see him on tennis courts around the world, just not in a professional capacity.

“I have no plans whatsoever like where, how, when. All I know is I would love to go and play places I have never played before or go say thank you for years to come to all the people that have been so supportive of me,” he said during a press conference that did not finish until after 2am on Saturday.

“Because the hard part about the Laver Cup was that tickets were already sold out. You know, the people who maybe would have also loved to be here couldn’t make it.

“Maybe there is another way down the stretch we can party all together.”

Defeat on a comeback was finally admitted publicly by Federer last week after a succession of operations during the last two and a half years on his right knee proved unsuccessful.

It meant the final singles contest of his career occurred at Wimbledon last year, where he lost in the quarter-finals to Hubert Hurkacz, but he decided to retire, which he settled on last month, was no longer a scary concept.

He added: “I was able to remind myself always on the court again how wonderful this is.

“This is not the end, end, you know, life goes on. I’m healthy, I’m happy, everything’s great and this is just a moment in time. This is obviously supposed to be like this.

“Weeks ago, for a fact, I was so scared of this moment that it really worried me.”

While Federer was emotional during his on-court interview, where he paid tribute to his wife Mirka, he was happy to bow out with a friend by his side in Nadal.

The duo shared a long embrace after Sock’s winner had confirmed defeat before they were in tears after a retirement video had been shown on the big screens and followed by a performance from British singer Ellie Goulding.

“To be not alone on that court for an entire evening, it helped a lot,” Federer admitted.

Maybe there is another way down the stretch we can party all together

Roger Federer

Nadal, who will forever hold a 26-14 upper-hand over Federer in singles’, talked in depth about their “beautiful” friendship.

“Wow, difficult. I have to say that the first couple of served for me were super difficult,” the Spaniard said.

“I was shaking a little bit. Has been a difficult day to handle every single thing and at the end everything became super emotional.

“For me, it has been a huge honor to be a part of this amazing moment of the history of our sport and at the same time a lot of years sharing a lot of things together.

Rafael Nadal partnered Federer (John Walton/PA) (PA Wire)

Rafael Nadal partnered Federer (John Walton/PA) (PA Wire)

“When Roger leaves the tour, yeah, an important part of my life is leaving too.

“On court we have completely opposite styles and that’s what probably makes our matches and our rivalry probably one of the biggest and most interesting.

“But in the family life, personal life, probably we approach life not in a very different way, no? So that’s why we can trust each other, we can speak very often and we’re able to speak very feeling free, feeling confident.

“Having somebody like Roger that I feel confident to talk about any personal thing, it’s something that is very beautiful after all the things that we shared together and all the important things that we fought for such a long time.”

‘The After Party’ Beautifully Brought This Director’s Style to Life

SPOILER ALERT: This post discusses the events of season 2, episode 4 of ‘The Afterparty.’

Part of what makes The Afterparty such a fun show is the series’ storytelling device: each character experiences the mystery in a different film genre. Whether that means a Nancy Meyers-style romantic comedy like Aniq’s (Sam Robinson) episode or the musical episode from season one starring Ben Schwartz’s Yasper, the show utilizes each genre to its advantage. Sometimes the genre works incredibly well with the murder mystery of it all, while other times it’s just a nod to a genre we know and love.

Season 2 features two episodes that really work as perfect examples of their respective genres. First was the Jane Austen-inspired period piece for Grace’s episode (Poppy Liu) as she prepared to marry Edgar (Zach Woods). But running a close second for my favorite episode of the season thus far is Hannah’s Wes Anderson-inspired episode.

Hannah (PEN15‘s Anna Konkle) is the adopted sister of Edgar and lives in a yurt on their family estate. Prior to this episode, she remained quietly on the outskirts as she mourned her brother. But in “Hannah,” we got to see her own journey within her family through the lens of a Wes Anderson-esque story. The show really did an incredible job of nailing Anderson’s aesthetic while incorprorating the themes of his films as well.

Hannah’s story was a marriage between The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom, which left me wanting more of Hannah’s story after her episode ended.

Family, pastels, and pain

The After Party Wes Anderson episode
(Apple TV+)

The episode itself isn’t just a visual homage to Anderson; it also follows his story structure. The show uses Hannah’s lack of love in her life to its advantage and highlights her dynamic with her brother Edgar as well as her budding romance with Grace. The twist of the episode was that Grace and Hannah were also in love with each other (behind Edgar’s back), and Hannah was willing to tell Aniq and Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) all about it.

It was such an Anderson view of the world, in the sense that Hannah didn’t care about making herself come across as innocent. She just wanted to tell her truth, no matter what Danner or Aniq thought about her.

Hannah deserves happiness

The After Party Wes Anderson episode
(Apple TV+)

The episode showed Grace trying to come to terms with the fact that her affair with Hannah was exposed. While Grace is clearly trying to unpack her own feelings, I do hope that Hannah gets to find her own happiness. If she did murder Edgar? Well, that’s a different story. I don’t think she did, but anything is possible. In the meantime, we get to enjoy this terrific tribute to Wes Anderson.

Doesn’t Melissa look AMAZING??? Another great testimony while I’m on my keto retreat in Italy ❤️

“Just wanted to share my struggles and journey with Keto! I started Keto originally in the summer of 2018. I at all the fat and counted net carbs at first. I was losing weight, and did lose a significant amount of weight in a year 98 lbs to be exact. But stopped there. Then the pandemic hit, and I was determined to lose that last 20lbs. But on a walk I fell and sprained my ankle and that was the end of that. For whatever reason I started eating sugary, carby foods again, and it spiraled out of control, and over that year I about gained all of my lost weight back. So fast forward to this January I finally found my motivation again. I bought a lot of Maria‘s cook books awhile ago with the intention of starting, and losing weight but I could never find the motivation.

So when I started this time I knew I wanted to do Keto Maria style (which is the right way of you ask me) with PSMF days.

17 weeks in and 46lbs down I’m a almost 2 weeks dairy free, and literally the weight is dropping so fast since I did that.

I am almost half way there in just over 4 months and I cannot believe it!!

My heartburn/nausea  is gone, and I am sleeping so much better.

Thank you Maria, and Craig for your recipes, informative videos, and for helping your followers. Thank you for doing all the hard work for everyone. Because I know if you eat it or use it, it’s good.” Melissa

  • Serve over white or brown rice, cauliflower rice, or quinoa and top with my delicious mango salsa.
  • Quick and easy to make!

This tender flaky Chili Lime Salmon is coated in a delicious combination of spices and fresh lime juice for a mouthful of flavor!  Pair it with fresh mango salsa and brown rice for the perfect healthy dinner!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • salmon – you’ll want four 6 oz evenly sized fillets of wild-salmon with the skin on. I usually get my salmon fresh from the grocer, but feel free to use frozen filets too.  Just make sure the salmon is thawed if you are using frozen fillets.
  • olive oil – used to sauté the salmon so it doesn’t stick to the pan, but you could also use butter.
  • lime juice – this adds flavor and helps the seasoning stick to the salmon.  You could also add in a little lime zest as well.
  • seasonings – I used a combination of chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • peach mango salsa – you’ll love my fresh peach mango salsa with this salmon!  The sweetness of the salsa pairs perfectly with the spices in this salmon.

How to Make Chili Lime Salmon

  • Mix all your seasonings together. I always pre-mix my spice blend so that I can make sure the salmon gets evenly coated.  In a small bowl, mix together the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and set aside until ready to use.
  • Season the salmon. Brush the tops of the salmon with a little olive oil and squeeze about a half of a lime over top, brushing to evenly coat. Liberally season the salmon fillets with your seasoning mix so that the flesh side of the fillets are nicely coated.
  • Cook salmon. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle olive oil (or butter) in the pan.  Once the skillet is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook 4-5 minutes, without moving them, until the skin is crisp and golden brown.  Carefully flip the salmon fillets over and continue cooking for 2-3 more minutes until the salmon is cooked through.  You’ll know the salmon is cooked when it’s flaky and opaque through the center.
  • Serve with white or brown rice, cauliflower rice or quinoa and top with my delicious fresh mango salsa and sprinkle additional cilantro, if desired.

Prepping and Storage

Leftovers can be stored in a sealed, airtight container for 2 to 3 days in the fridge.  You can easily reheat this salmon in the oven wrapped in foil at 325 degrees F for about 5 minutes or simply warm it up in the microwave.  I also love adding this leftover salmon to a salad for a protein-packed lunch!

Mediterranean Chopped Salad – Eat Yourself Skinny

Fresh and crisp Mediterranean Chopped Salad made with fresh tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, red onion, chickpeas, olives and feta cheese all tossed with a delicious red wine vinaigrette!

Fresh and crisp Mediterranean Chopped Salad made with fresh tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, red onion, chickpeas, olives and feta cheese all tossed with a delicious red wine vinaigrette!

There’s nothing better on a warm day than a crisp, fresh salad and this Mediterranean chopped salad is one of my absolute favorites!  Super simple to make, loaded with your favorite vegetables, protein-packed chickpeas and a zesty red wine vinegar dressing all sprinkled with some crumbled feta cheese.  This salad also tastes great served with chicken, shrimp or steak and is easily customizable to your liking!  So much flavor in every bite!

Why You’ll Love this Salad

  • This salad is light, fresh and healthy!
  • Super simple to throw together with minimal ingredients that are probably already in your fridge or pantry.
  • Can easily be prepped ahead of time for quick assembly and meal prep.
  • Perfect salad to feed a crowd!
  • This recipe also makes a great mason jar salad for lunches!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • lettuce – I finely chopped some romaine lettuce, but any leafy green lettuce such as arugula, kale or spinach will work.
  • tomatoes – I like to use grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes in this salad because they aren’t as watery as larger tomatoes tend to be when you slice them.
  • cucumbers – mini cucumbers tend to be less watery and more crunchy than larger cucumbers so I like them best in this salad.  English cucumbers work great too, but I would suggest scooping the seeds and flesh out to keep this salad nice and crisp.
  • red onion – adds a nice savory flavor to this salad as well as a good crunch!
  • chickpeas – I used canned chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) which are a great source of protein in this salad, just make sure to drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  • olives – I chopped some pitted Kalamata olives giving this salad some saltiness and flavor.
  • fresh parsley – this is a must in this salad and adds a nice fresh flavor as well as a pop of color.  You could also add in some other fresh herbs such as fresh basil, mint or oregano.
  • dressing – simple and delicious mixture of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, garlic and dried oregano (or Italian seasoning works too).  A little dijon mustard added to the dressing is also a great addition and adds a little zip!
  • feta cheese – adds some creaminess and flavor.

How to Make a Mediterranean Chopped Salad

  1. Chop veggies, lettuce and herbs.  This might be the most time-consuming part, but trust me this salad is worth it!  Chop up your tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, olives, fresh parsley and romaine lettuce.
  2. Salt and drain cucumbers and tomatoes.  This is a little trick I do that helps draw out excess moisture from the cucumbers and tomatoes which helps prevent the salad from getting soggy.  Place your chopped cucumbers and tomatoes in a colander in the sink, toss them in about a teaspoon of salt and let them drain for about 10 or 15 minutes.
  3. Make the dressing.  While the cucumbers and tomatoes are draining, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, garlic and dried oregano in a small bowl (or mason jar) and mix or shake until dressing is emulsified.
  4. Marinate veggies.  Transfer the cucumbers and tomatoes to a large salad bowl and add in the chickpeas, red onion, olives and fresh parsley (don’t add the lettuce just yet).  Toss with the lemony dressing and let the veggies sit for about 10 minutes.  This allows the veggies to soak up all that flavor without making the lettuce soggy.
  5. Toss the salad.  Add in the romaine lettuce and feta cheese, tossing to combine.  Season with salt and black pepper, as needed, serve and enjoy!

What to Serve with Mediterranean Chopped Salad

The great thing about this Mediterranean chopped salad recipe is it can be served as a whole meal or enjoyed as a delicious side dish!  Here are some of my favorite ways to serve up this salad:

  • All on its own as a big delicious salad!
  • Mix in a protein such as chicken, shrimp or steak.  You could even whip up some extra dressing and marinate the chicken in it (highly recommend this!)
  • Serve alongside these chicken kabobs.
  • Make it creamy with some chopped avocado.
  • Throw this salad in a wrap or gyro and drizzle with some tzatziki sauce.
  • Perfect side dish to pizza, soups, warm pita bread or sandwiches.

Prepping and Storage

To Make Ahead:  To prep this salad ahead of time, chop all the veggies and store in a separate container from the romaine lettuce to prevent the lettuce from wilting.  You can also make the salad dressing ahead of time and store it in a separate container (or mason jar with a tight lid) until ready to use.

To Store:  This salad can be stored in a sealed, airtight container for about 2 days in the fridge before the lettuce starts to get soggy.  If you are prepping these salads for lunches, I highly recommend using large mason jars and layering the salad, starting with the chickpeas and red onion at the bottom with the dressing, then adding in the tomatoes, cucumbers and olives, finishing up with the lettuce on top to keep it fresh and crisp.  I also recommend waiting to add the feta cheese until right before serving.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Switch up the protein.  The chickpeas in this salad are a great source of protein, but feel free to throw in some shredded or grilled chicken, shrimp or steak.
  • More veggies.  Add in some additional veggies like chopped zucchini, bell peppers, or carrots and you could even add in more fresh herbs like basil, mint or oregano along with the parsley for a different type of flavor.
  • Add some grains.  Toss in some cooked quinoa, farro or rice for a more filling salad and you could even make Mediterranean bowls with this.
  • Delicious swaps.  You can easily swap out the feta cheese for goat cheese, use white beans in place of the chickpeas, artichoke hearts in place of the olives, and you can easily change up the veggies and protein, the possibilities are endless!
  • More sweetness?  Mix in a little honey or maple syrup in with the dressing before tossing with the salad for a little sweetness.

Keto Retreat to Costa Rica

Hi Friends! Do you want to come on an adventure of a lifetime with me?

Join me in Costa Rica in January! Not only will you leave inspired to change your life, you will also enjoy beautiful beaches, waterfalls, hot springs and more ❤️

Come on a health retreat of a lifetime where we will dine together and make friends for life while we explore the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica!

Here is a photo of my keto retreat in Bali. Can you believe that most of us didn’t know each other before the retreat started (many people came alone, as did I) and we all still chat just about daily!

And this photo is from my Keto Retreat to Italy. Again, most of us didn’t know each other before the retreat and many came alone, yet we all stay in contact!

Some of my closest friends have come on my keto retreats. It is hard for me to make friends; I am a busy working mom who homeschools the boys, works with celebrities and is often writing books. But when I set my mode to relaxation and let Giuliana take care of the plans, it is the BEST!

I never thought I would love a planned trip because I am very independent; however, it is the most AMAZING way to travel! All you have to do is get on a plane and when you arrive, a driver is there to pick you up to take you to the most beautiful hotel. You do not need to research tickets to anything, no transportation needs to be planned, no hotel needs to be booked. It is all set for you so you can relax and enjoy making friends for life!

No matter if you are keto or not, there’s NO JUDGING on any of my keto retreats. If you do not want to eat keto, no one will mind, however, if you want to eat keto or carnivore, you will have the opportunity to have the most delicious keto food!

Many people on my past keto retreats brought friends who were not keto and we had so much fun! As long as you come with the attitude to have a great time and make new friends, you are invited!

Hurry! This trip will sell out FAST!

Go HERE to check it out!

I hope you can come!

Doesn’t Vito look AMAZING???? In only 6 months he transformed his health 💪

Vito is a chef in Canada and the first photo is from my keto retreat to Greece last fall. His after photo is from my keto Bali retreat!

He still makes delicious food, he’s still a “foodie” but he modifies his recipes to be keto! He is the one who showed my how to make protein noodles with gelatin, water and dried egg whites! He even made squid ink pasta with it!

Most people I consult are doing keto totally wrong. Get fast results with the my Mind-blowing Keto School!
